Effectiveness of rehabilitation of the upper limb
Rexová, Natálie ; Kolářová, Jana (referee) ; Horáková, Pavla (advisor)
The purpose of this bachelor‘s thesis is to examine muscle bioelectrical activity and its measuring in the BIOPAC system. To better understand this subject this bachelor’s thesis takes interest in a muscle tissue and all its main structure. It is also focused on electromyography as a significant diagnostic method in medicine. Subsequently there is an introduction to the practical part of bachelor‘s thesis. In this chapter the main focus is aimed at monitoring the parameters of the surface EMG signal of brachioradialis muscle. The measurements are collected in three phases, before, during and at the end of the proposed process of the strengthening of brachiotadialis muscle. The measured values are statistically processed and then interpreted. The final chapter seeks to specify the motivational activities and the enhancement of effectiveness of exercise.
Efficacy of post-isometric relaxation technique on muscle tissue and its viscoelastic properties after physical activity

Title: Efficacy of post - isometric relaxation technique on muscle tissue and its viscoelastic properties after physical activity. Objective: This study is a pilot analytical and comparative study. The first aim of this thesis was evaluation of the effect of post-isometric relaxation technique on properties of muscle tissue after physical activity. The second aim of this thesis is to present a literature review regarding this topic using literature available. Methods: This study took place in the laboratory of kinesiology at UK FTVS. Six participants were measured prior to Wingate test, after Wingate test and after post- isometric relaxation or rest. Experimental lower extremity was applied post-isometric relaxation technique and the control lower extremity was not. Muscle tonus of the soleus muscle was measured with myotonometric device developed by Šifta. The final data were processed in the special software in Matlab and the obtained hysteresis curves were used for results analysis. Results: This study had three hypotheses and none of them was confirmed during the measuremets. The first hypothesis pressumed that muscle tonus will increase after the Wingate test, but it was not confirmed and thus further measurements were strongly influenced in the sense that post-isometric relaxation was not...
The influence of different kinds of warm-up on the speed skills of football players from the ontogenetic point of view

Title: The influence of different kinds of warm-up on the speed skills of football players from the ontogenetic point of view. Aims: The main objective of this diploma thesis is to compare the results of the times achieved by football players in the U18 youth team with their previous times measured two years ago, and in this way to evaluate their development of speed capabilities. Another aim of the research is to evaluate the progress of these players' flexibility at a chosen time interval (two years) and to inquire into other possible connections of these outcomes. Methods: For the assessment of speed power performance, each player goes through two runs at a distance of 30 meters, with measurements in this section also at distances of 5, 10 and 15 meters. Before the measurement itself, all participants are being prepared by a selected type of stretching. Two standardized tests are used for secondary research dealing with potential connection between the attained speed and the degree of flexibility of lower limbs. Outcomes: Testing revealed that subjects had a deterioration in the average running time with a two-year interval at distances of up to 15 meters (5,10,15 meters). On the contrary, when analyzing the results of measuring the distance of 30 meters, a significant improvement in average...
Vliv adipokinetického hormonu na působení jedu z vosičky, \kur{Habrobracon hebetor}, ve svalové tkáni octomilky, \kur{Drosophila melanogaster}
PODLAHOVÁ, Šárka
Adipokinetic hormone (AKH) delays or reduces neuromuscular paralysis caused by the venom of the parasitic wasp Habrobracon hebetor, however the associated mechanism is not known yet. This thesis describes in detail the technique of preparation of semithin and ultrathin sections analyzed by a transmission electron microscopy that enabled detailed observation of changes in muscular ultrastructure of the Drosophila melanogaster thorax after the wasp venom and AKH treatments. The results revealed that the wasp venom induced significant changes in the ultrastructure of myofibrils and mitochondria; however, the changes were reduced after co-application with AKH. AKH itself did not affect organization of muscle fibres but elicited vacuolization in mitochondria. Furthermore the wasp venom treatment led to significant prolongation of sarcomeres.
Stanovení mastných kyselin ve vybraných živočišných tkáních

My thesis consists of a theoretical part and a practical part. In theoretical part I deal with information about the fatty acids and its structure, functions and influence on our health. Last but not least I focused on diseases that may arise due to bad intake of fatty acids. It is the atherosclerosis. The second part of my thesis is the already mentioned practical part. This consisted of a samples of pigs in which were taken all animal tissues and subsequent determination of the fatty acids. In my thesis I deal with liver and muscle tissue. These samples were taken from pigs that had fish or palm oil in the diet. The determination was done by lyophilization, extraction, derivatization and gas chromatography. Based on the results, I conducted a statistical evaluation using graphs and a final evaluation of the results.

Mercury content in muscle of chub (\kur{Leuciscus cephalus}) from the downstream tributaries of the Elbe river
KOLEK, Bohuslav
Mercury content in muscle of chub (Leuciscus cephalus) from the downstream tributaries of the Elbe river. The aim of the present study was to investigate the concentration of total mercury in muscle of 141 chub (Leuciscus cephalus) from seven Czech rivers (Vltava, Berounka, Sázava, Ohře, Otava, Lužnice, Labe) and to evaluate the potential risk of eating fish from the rivers. Total mercury values results from 2011 were compared with 2010. Mercury was determined by means of cold vapour atomic absorption spectrometry using AMA-254. The highest mean concentrations of total mercury were found in the Otava-Topělec (0,240 +- 0,106 mg/kg) for year 2010 and Labe-Obříství (0,222 +- 0,102 mg/kg) for year 2011. The lowest mean concentrations of total mercury were found in the chub from the Berounka-Beroun for both years (0,053 +- 0,013 mg/kg and 0,064 +- 0,010, respectively). The fish intake hazard index calculated were between 0,1 and 0,4 for the individual tributaries monitored. The results of this study show that hygienic limit for fish product (0,5mg.kg-1) was exceeded in Otava-Topělec (0,59mg.kg-1).
